In the spring of 2007, the MVCS Assocation voted 100% to approve the School Board's recommendation to proceed with the expansion of a new high school facility. At this point in the history of Mount Vernon Christian School, the words contained in Psalm 106:48, "Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say, Amen!" seem appropriate. The MVCS Association voted 100% to approve the School Board's recommendation to proceed with the expansion of our high school facility.
In September 2008, students began attending high school in the 42,000 square foot facility. The facility includes classrooms, a tech and media center, a 3,600 square foot student commons area, a double-sided stage, and a high school regulation size gymnasium that will seat up to 1,000 people, among other areas, along with an ample parking.
Much work, community support and prayer have gone into this project. While we still seek donations to finish the captial campaign, we continually praise God for His faithfulness to supply all we need to advance His kingdom. As you enter this facility, you will be greeted with the words "To God Be the Glory!". For this we are truly humbled.
If you would like to speak to someone about visiting the facility or making a contribution to the on-going capital fundraising campaign, please call the school office at (360) 424-9157 and ask to speak with Patrick DeJong, Head School Administrator.
