Thinking of Giving to MVCS?
Now is a great time to contribute to MVCS. We need the support of God's people in order to ensure we meet our financial needs. At the current time we are 15 students short of our enrollment goal. Your contributions could help offset the loss in tuition income. Your contributions are tax deductible and will all be used to advance the mission of providing a Christ-centered education for students. We desire to see every student become strong servants of God in their families and communities. We strive to provide the strongest curriculum possible with the funds God provides through His people. If you would like to donate, you can download a gift donation form by clicking the link located on the side of this page or call Mr. De Jong at 360-424-9157.
IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO ENROLL

HISTORY

The doors of MVCS grade one through eight opened for the first time in September of 1951. Miss Clara Bolkema was the principal/teacher of upper grades and Mrs. Helen Schoolland was teacher for the lower elementary grades. Fifty-five students were enrolled. A third classroom was built in 1960 but was soon expanded to four. The Kindergarten was added in 1977 and the High School in 1983. Portable classrooms were added as needed for Middle School and High School use. A new 42,000 square foot high school facility opened its doors to students and our school community in September 2008.
MVCS MISSION

Mount Vernon Christian School, committed to education based on the infallible Word of God, seeks to serve God by preparing students to respond in loving service to God and their neighbors. As an extension of the Christian home, we assist parents in nurturing their children in the knowledge of the Lord and of His creation, thereby equipping students to embrace Biblical values while being Christ's agents of renewal in the world.
