| Parent - Teacher Conferences |

As we find ourselves at the end of the first quarter of the school year, parent - teacher - student conferences have been scheduled for Wednesday, 11 November, between the hours of noon and 7:00pm. Report cards will be issued by the teacher at the conference. Kindergarten through Grade 3 will have conferences between the parent and the teacher. Grades 4 through 8 will have conferences among the parent, teacher and student. Students may be asked to wait outside of the classroom if the parent wishes.

Up-to-date health information on various health concerns, including the H1N1 virus or Swine Flu, can be found on Mrs. Erin Lacue, our School Nurse's website. Medical forms may also be downloaded from the site. To view her page please follow these steps. Click the "Nurse Information" link in the column to the left. Then click on 'Schools'. Click 'Elementary School'. Click 'School Nurse'. Click 'Medical Forms' to download forms or read the latest health information concerning our students.

| Fire Prevention Week |
Students in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades enjoyed a visit from the Carrolltown Fire Company on Monday of Fire Prevention week. The firemen taught the students fire safety skills. The firemen also treated the students to a tour of the firetruck. Thank you, Carrolltown Fire Company!

| Even Bears Can Come to School! |
Smokey the Bear came to school on Tuesday of Fire Prevention week. Our students in grades Pre-kindergarten, Kindergarten, First and Second received great advice on fire safety. Thank you Smokey!

A list of quizzes for the Accelerated Reader program can now be found on this site. Check out the Accelerated Reader link located in the left hand column. The list currently holds 2523 quizzes for books in the School Media Center. The list will be updated throughout the school year with more quizzes. Hope that you find quizzes for your favorite books!
