SKI CLUB INFORMATIONAL MEETING
Any student interested in participating in ACMS/PHS Ski Club (i.e., skiers, snowboarders and tubers), should plan on attending an informational meeting on Friday, November 20, 2009 during resource in the choir room at ACMS. Please contact Mrs. Carrigan in the ACMS office with questions (691-2100 Ext. 4034).
BAND AND CHOIR CONCERTS
A 7th and 8th grade band concert will take place on December 9, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium, and a 5th-8th grade choir concert will take place on December 16, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. also in the high school auditorium. Students have been working very hard preparing pieces for these concerts. Performance expectations are high, and attendance is required at these events. All students are to perform in black top/shirt, black pants/skirt, and black performance shoes. This dress attire is requested to give performers a clean, polished look so the focus can be maintained on the music itself. Any student unable to attend their respective concert, should notify their music teacher as soon as possible. Thank you for supporting your children in music education.
PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES
The next set of parent/teacher conferences at ACMS is scheduled for December 17, 2009 from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. If you are unable to attend conferences, progress report cards for Quarter 2 will be mailed home December 18, 2009. The format for conferences is designed for 5 minute conferences with teachers of your choice (appointments are not necessary). If you need a longer conference, please feel free to call any of your child's teachers to schedule a different time. Contact Mrs. Carrigan (691-2100 Ext. 4034) with questions about parent/teacher conferences.
HOOPS FOR HEART
ACMS's 7th annual Hoops for Heart fundraiser for the American Heart Association will be held December 21-22, 2009 during Fitness/Health classes. This fundraiser has made a positive impact on the health of school children since its inception. To make this fundraising event a success, several parent volunteers and a variety of healthy snacks (fruit, trail mix, etc.) are needed on both days. Please contact Mr. Rapp (691-2100 Ext. 4118) if you are interested in volunteering or providing a healthy snack. Please guide and support your child in their efforts to obtain pledges in support of the American Heart Association.
PARENT ADVISORY GROUP MEETINGS
Parent Advisory Group (PAG) meetings for the 2009-10 school year are scheduled for November 17, 2009 and May 11, 2010 at 1:15 p.m. in the ACMS conference room (#110). The PAG is an avenue to facilitate home-to-school communication and enable families to discuss ideas, provide feedback and exchange information with the Principal. These meetings are open to any interested parent/guardian of a 7th/8th grade student. For planning purposes, please indicate your interest in attending one or both of these meetings by contacting Mrs. Carrigan, School Secretary (691-2100 Ext. 4034 or carrcyn2@pewaukee.k12.wi.us). Thank you!
FESTIVAL OF ACHIEVEMENT & 6TH GRADE ORIENTATION
ACMS's Festival of Achievement and 6th Grade Orientation are scheduled for January 14, 2010 from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. Please read the December/January newsletter (available on-line November 25, 2009) for more detailed information about this exciting and informative evening. Contact Mrs. Carrigan (691-2100 Ext. 4034) with questions.
STUDENT COUNCIL FOOD DRIVE
The week of November 16-20, 2009, Student Council is hosting a food drive to help support the Pewaukee Food Pantry. Students are being asked to bring in to their resource classroom non-perishable food items; our goal is to collect over 1,000 food items. The winning resource classroom will receive an ice cream party, and if the entire school reaches our goal, a teacher (yet to be determined) will be duct-taped to the gym wall at our next recognition assembly scheduled for November 24th!
