WELCOME TO OUR DISTRICT!

The School District of North Fond du Lac serves approximately 1250 students in grades K-12. Located just a short distance from the Fox Valley, the community has evidenced a strong commitment to education through the funding of extensive remodeling projects and the construction of a new high school opened in 2000. District initiatives include researched based, best practice work revolving around Professional Learning Communities for staff and differentiated instruction for students. The Early Learning Center (Early Childhood-4K-Kindergarten), Friendship Learning Center (Grades 1-5), Bessie Allen Middle School (Grades 6-8) and Horace Mann High School (Grades 9-12) comprise our educational facilities in addition to an Alternative Learning Center for high school age students. Small class sizes, a dedicated and enthusiastic staff and endless extra-curricular opportunities ensure that this progressive school district is poised for continued growth and excellence well into the future.
H1N1 Up-Date - Vaccination Clinc Postponed

The Fond du Lac County Health Department has alerted the District that due to inadequate amounts of the H1N1 virus inoculations, our November 12th School-Based Vaccination Clinics are postponed. We will continue to work with Fond du Lac County to find the soonest possible time to get this vaccination to our students. We will keep all signed permission forms for the clinics when they are able to be held.

The District will be sending an AlertNow message out on Monday, October 26th, to get this message to all.

Please continue to keep your child home if they are sick and report the symptoms to the secretary at your child's school. Thanks for all your help and working together to help prevent and contain illness.

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO TO KEEP OUR SCHOOLS SAFE AND HEALTHY!

ART HUMPHREY TO GET A FACE LIFT

QSCB (Qualified School Construction Bond) allocations were announced In August and the School District of North Fond du Lac will receive $500,000 in non-interest construction bonds. The District, in partnership with numerous stakeholders, will develop a comprehensive plan that will address facilities improvement at the Art Humphrey Athletic Field area (specifically the bleachers and track). The project will focus on building a safe set of bleachers for our fans and to construct a track and field complex that will allow our students the chance to compete on a state of the art facility - allowing the community another option for fitness and pride. More information will come out as it is available.
Board of Education Priorities Announced

On September 28th, The Board of Education, Superintendent Aaron Sadoff, and members of the administration team participated in a Board Developmental Workshop. The Board engaged in their fourth annual priority setting exercise in which they discussed areas of focus for the District for the 2009-2010 school year and beyond. The following were adopted as Board of Education Priorities for 2009-2010:

Promote and induce collective responsibility for the improvement of student academic and standardized test performance among administration, staff, student, parent and community constituencies.

Provide, foster, and support effective leadership for and amongst administration, staff, student, parent and community constituencies.

Promote and support the cultivation and development of district ownership and pride among administration, staff, student, parent and community constituencies.
